Lucienne Day provided our benchmark for colour, pattern and scale in textile designs. Whether it be a singular design in a tea towel, the fine-art influences of mid-century plant motifs, the large repeats of geometric pattern or the exquisite craft employed in her silk mosaics. It was a treat to work with her on a range for Converse knowing those who buy the footwear had little knowledge that the designs had such pedigree.
